Article: Fun Facts!

Did you know?

* More than 7 million tons (that’s 14,000,000,000 pounds!) of green coffee beans are grown and processed each year in the more than 50 countries worldwide that produce coffee.

* More than a third of that coffee is exported to the USA.

* Recently released data from the Florida Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center in Tampa shows promise regarding caffeine and its positive effect on memory issues caused by Alzheimer’s disease.  Among other things, the studies show that caffeine helps the brain to decrease production of beta amyloid, the protein linked to characteristic plaque found in Alzheimer’s patients.

We appreciate the feedback given to us by friends of Café Campesino and Fair Grounds.  Here’s some we’ve received during the past month:

Dear Café Campesino and Little Farm,
I just wanted to write you a quick THANK YOU to let you know how much we appreciate your generous donations of your delicious coffee for the Rainbow Family gatherings. Your coffee has kept thousands of people warm, happy and alert in the national forests (especially on those cool nights). Thanks again for all that you do.

Fair Grounds is fun, informative and a constant reminder of how people can make a difference.
